i use soundfont a lot.only guitar is audio. if i have to Compose stuff an put faster i can my "ideas", nothing's more speedy than soundfonts .
If i could afford a "ninja-speed"PC,i would not mind, but that not the case (like a lot of people),and using vst doesn't help at all..so my guess is : If not 2.1 Sf2 , At least 2.00 for now,but running properly!!

>>How to disable Kx Synth2 in cubase Sx ,to use kxsfi=?
You can't disable kX Synth's in SX..! If you are using 3538a, the latest version of KXSFi which doesn't need any special install "tricks" is already included. if you use 3537 or prior, then carefully read the install instructions, regarding sfman32.dll, in this thread. If you don't want to use 3538a, but want to use it's included latest KXSFi version; try to extract it and use it in 3537 instead. Should work,...no guarantee though.. ./LeMury |

the dll should be the right ones .
5.12.1.130 in C:\WINDOWS\system32 ,and in "C:\Documents and Settings\ghostly\Impostazioni locali\Temp\tmpDriver", "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0003\DriverF iles". " C:\Programmi\kX Project\3537 " 4.6.0.501 in C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache. I will try the to extract , EDIT: i extracted:it works thanks but.. the PERCUSSION POOL!!? i can see just the melodic pool ,but i can't see the different drums on the bank (present in percussion pool)

it keeps showing the melodic pool, anyway what you hear is the drum sound , luckily.
anyway great work , i wonder how no-commercial people get the things to work 100 times better than the brands..compliments

Yes that is "correct"; the preset names don't show the GM drum kit names. (I did not implement the percussion pool on purpose - bunch of crap to me -) >> anyway what you hear is the drum sound , luckily. Yep...Good. At Midi channel 10 you'll find the GM kits at those "strange" Patch Change number intervals like; 0, 15, 25 etc.. or something. IMHO It is better to get some good SF drum kits and put them in the melodic pool. Use Vienna for this. (see SoundFont section) Have fun, /LeMury |

thanks,at the end just your plugin was the only thing working there ,close to my needs.
I'm keeping a little try ,but score-support is terrible (even metronome out of sync !! can't record anything). piano roll is also buggy, and you can't select/hear the single chords/part created, just the note (with a lot of feedback). i will have to try something else...or EXISt a plugin to write your midi smoother?

also when i playback a midi part ,the usual vertical "playback line" (th follows midi-drawned notes) is delayed a lot ,out of sync with the audio playback. (i have to say this happen to me also with nuendo)

thanks for the tip,i will try ,but buggy score-editor is a big wall to me.
Anyway,(for the info)which sfman.dll has to be wiped in the system? the 4.6 or the 5.12 (there are both on my winXP)

Have you tried Cubase SX 1.68 instead of 2.0? Maybe it's score editor is better. >>Anyway,(for the info)which sfman.dll has to be wiped in the system? >>the 4.6 or the 5.12 (there are both on my winXP) Just extract/use the one provided in 3538a and put it in the Cubase folder. That should do. To overwrite the dlls in the \system32 folder, you have to boot XP in safe mode and have admin rights. (dj knows what i mean,he switched away from sonar): everytime you record a clip in sonar ,is like "locked",you can't draw/manually editing, or cutting away part of records (just "hiding"them),and use plugins for editing,no manual)..the only thing they kept good is the score (THE BEST between all til now), as a "old style" musician i can think only in score terms when i compose, so i'm searching the "most" similar to cakewlk audio ,with aSIO capability,if exist. i'm close also to buy a used "pulsar"creamware Soundcard ,to use in conjuction with Kx, hoping it will work even in a not ASIO system (like kx do,but with 96 khz record)

yes sorry ..it was lemury th.told me that(in my topc about cakewlk).
By the way ,DJ,i 've installed logic 551 ,after i did some option it crashed ,and did'nt deinstall correctly(so when reinstalling=it crashes at the beginning splash). Now after i have cleaned up MANUALLY some files, it got reinstalled, but i have stopped option-setup(when askin about "easy mme/directsound) ,since i'm afraid to get it crashed again. Dj,Could you post a "starter settings " for logic with KX? its so different from the usual: its an "audio driver window, then an audio driver 2 window also", with unknown voices inside and so on, i'm searching the forum but i found just "technical "in-deep-logic threads, and 1 more general ,but in german. Then is the "general explication" (By you !)using logic ,it shows just the "audio driver 2" window, doesn't go through the misterious voices. Since i have sb0060 (you told is buggy asio mapped),and the image is half cutted away, icould you link me to some tips?

well for basic "Starter" options
you will need to click the audio menu, and open the Audio Hardware control panel select audio driver page 1 (there are two tabs) make sure everything is unchecked go to the second tab check the ASIO option, click the ASIO control panel button and set it to 48 khz close that control panel where it says input and output streams - change these to the number you need (the lower the number, the lower the CPU overhead) that is as basic as i can explain it

(percussion key is not correct),but is the best i did see among the asio complants it seems, thanks dj i go trough experiments

KXSFI 3538.7 beta
- Added Multi-card support
- fixed; midi playback timing READ THIS: -This is a beta release. Only try/use it if you know what you are doing! -kXSFi is primarly meant and tested for Cubase SX! Due to different VST implementations used in other hosts, midi playback timing may still suffer in those hosts. I can fix this if needed. (Wine here if you want that) -This is a newer version then the one in recent 3538c Driver release. -Saved SX projects using older kXSFi versions may not open correctly after installing this version. -This version is compatible with all kX drivers from 3534f -> 3538c. INSTALLATION: Copy the new KXSFI.DLL to your ..\vstplugins folder. That's all. http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxplugins/KxSFi.dll (Thanks to TravelRec for beta testing) /LeMury |

> Multi-card support - this is bingo!! Great idea. I still need it because i have two kX cards. But there are some bugs. It doesn't work with FLStudio, CSX crashes sometimes (plugin's interface doesn't appear or kxmixer's debug errors happen)
The same with kXi - multicard support is required. PITmaster |

I've mentioned FLStudio because prev version of kXSFi (without multicard suppord) works fine with it. CSX is Cubase SX. Cubase crashes sometimes when I load kXSFi plugin into project. It looks like plugin's window appears but with no interface inside. After that Cubase doesn't start again and w2k system restart is impossible - hard reset is required. I've also once mentioned soundfont loaded to both cards instead only to card 1 (0=APS, 1=SBLive). kXMixer application crashed many times. That's maybe I don't use standard DSP setings. PITmaster |
