Hi!
My setup is: WinXP + kx + audigy2 + MIDI bracket. For some reason the setup doesn't recognize my Boss GX-700 multieffects processor. I have tried to upload/download patches between my pc and GX700 using MIDI. My question is: should I somehow activate the MIDI port? I have loaded soundfont and MIDI files play ok. Otherwise, Kx drivers have worked just fine. I have not tried MIDI keyboards or other MIDI device. |

What do you mean by "doesn't recognize"? It's not supposed to recognize midi devices, only to send/receive messages to/from them...

Thanks for your reply,
What I mean is that when trying to send/reveive SysEx messages nothing happens. I have tried this with all selectable kx midi in/out devices in my pc. I just can't figure out where the problem might be. The midi setup (channel and device ID) in the SysEx software and GX700 are the same. Things worked ok with my previous pc (AWE64 card + SB drivers). |

kx has a know bug with sysex messages, so that's probably what's going on there... Search the forum for more info on that.

Midi Sysex
Hi Eugene, ville and Daniel
I have the samme issue also with Boss GX-700, but only to the PC. I can upload patches to the GX-700 without problem and this is the most important thing for me. I use the Soundstation software to control the GX-700 from my PC. I am using 3537 version which works very well! Kind regards, Sture |

>> but only to the PC
that's a little bit strange, since the only problem with SysEx was related to =outgoing=, not =incoming= messages. please double-check that anybody else to confirm? [please, 3537 release ONLY] /E |

Thanks for your hints,
Now my setup is working perfectly Both uploading and downloading worked great with the GX700. I haven't tried Cubase yet, instead I used my old software GXL700 which is GX700 specific patch librarian/editor. GREAT kX! |

Sysem to and from Boss GX-700
Hi ville,
could you please tell me which in and out ports you are using. I am using the Sound Station software (http://grunw.hypermart.net/) and no matter what ports I am using, I can only upload patches from the PC to the GX-700. I can not go the other way. Kind regards, Sture |

Problem could be WinXP related
Hi again Ville,
just read at above site that this could be related to Windows XP and some users have been able to run the program in Compatibility mode that would solve it. Perhaps you are running 98SE or ME? I will try to run in compatibility mode and see if it works better! Sture |

I'm using WinXP Pro. Midi in and out ports are the same: "kX Uart SB0244 10k2 [2080]".
