Midi to audio on one side

Hi everyone
I am using Sonar 2.2 with DSP setup identical to this one: http://www.geocities.com/kxsonar/kxs...es/MYSETUP.jpg When I convert midi to audio, my wave file is only recorded in mono. I know this because I can see the wave in Sonar and it is only on the top part and not on the bottom as well I only hear it on the left speaker. Hope someone could help.

The above link does not work. Try this one http://www.geocities.com/kxsonar/kxs...s/page0003.htm and click on the word "this" at the bottom of the page.

Hmm...well;
If you use ASIO for recording, keep in mind that certain model cards (sblive 5.1 etc.)
have a ASIO input routing problem. (see kX FAQ).
Try routing/recording to another ASIO stereo pair on which you are sure it will
record a stereo pair and monitor the rec signals in your app before recording.
Hope this helps.

Please excuse my ignorance but I am still learning the DSP. Do you mean use a different asio in the input of my epilog other than [4010]asio0 and [4011]asio1?

That depends on whether or not you have that particular model SBxxxx card
as mentioned in kX FAQ on kX home page.

IIRC most 5.1 base cards have that ASIO routing problem.
That is for instance; asio0/asio1 pair may not correspond to ASIO_IN_0/ASIO_IN1 in your audio app.
And maybe in your case; not as a stereo pair.
(trial and error is the way to find out how your card routes to asio in).
Just check your card model, read the FAQ, and see if it applies to you.

Do you mean the FAQ: "Which soundcards can I use with the kX driver? " I cannot find the reference to the ASIO input routing problem. My card is model # SB0220

See;
http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/issues.php?language=en section: 'Hardware-Dependent'

I always forget those different cards IDs, but IIRC in general SB Live's with 5.1 digital output
exhibit this behaviour.

But all this aside, why don't you just try;
- routing the Synth outputs to different asio pairs,
- arm a stereo audio track in Sonar for recording,
- play back a midi track and monitor Left/Right meters in Sonar untill it matches.
