load very huge soundfonts (over 100 MB)
Hi!
I downloaded Fluid R3 soundfont, which is quite impressive in terms of quality and of hugeness (about 140 MB). With creative drivers I simply loaded them by Audio HQ, but on some MIDIs my computer (Duron 850, 256 Mb RAM, Windows XP) dropped some notes. So I decided to switch in favour of Kx drivers (cool!). But I cannot extend memory available for soundfonts over 100 MB. Does anyone know a solution? |

I'm pretty sure that the latest version of kX (3537?) has removed the limitation on SoundFont size. I am able to load and use Fluid R3 without problems.

Your problem may be with the amount of memory. Im currently using a sf at 265 megs but I also have 768 megs to work with. Before the 768 I was at 512 and fluid along with all versions of SGM128 loaded.
Peace......... |

i agree with nightbreed, with the soundfont taking up more than half your ram, and windows xp taking up most of the rest it is seriously doubtful that you can run any program to record/play
