is kx multi-client?
is kx multi-client?
When I start Logic and then Sounddiver to connect my keyboard, SoundDiver tells me the input\output is used by another application..... it happens even if I do the reverse solution.... is there a way to do it? What are the differences between kx control, uart and uart2? what can I use for input and output? thanks |

uarts are the midi ports, where-as control-i think that is the vst plugin for automation of the dsp

cene, so logic is go after all? back to this one, you either need more harware ports or a virtual patch bay and virtual midi ports. midiyoke gives 8 midi ins/outs. and midiox i believe will do the neccesary connections. http://www.midiox.com/
more or less waht you'd have is: midi keyboard ----> midiox (or other patch bay) -----> 2 virtual midiyoke in ports (one assigned in logic, the other in sound diver) google for "logic faq" to know how to make logic not grab all ports by default but only those you want. it involves editing win.ini and cant remember wll. lots of logic tips too. don't let logic grab midi UART. also logic by default will case midi feedback (in other words hang the computer) on the midiyoke virtual ports. So don't enable the same input number as out number, or logic will out to say midiyoke 1 and receive as well on midiyoke 1, try to sync to itself (read feedback, bang, crash)

>>is kx multi-client?
Yes, kX's midi ports are multi-client, but certain applications seem to quiery the winmm system differently reporting "the port can't be opened". >>is there a way to do it? Yes, MidiYoke+MidiOX (as already mentioned) >>What are the differences between kx control, uart and uart2? >>....what can I use for input and output? -Uart is the standard midi I/O port attached to CL-cards (on the back of a 10k1 card or via a small flat cabel for 10k2 cards) -Uart2 is the extension midi I/O port if you have a Livedrive extension Bay. -kX Control is a 'internal' midi-Out port to control (or automate) the DSP-plugin parameters through midi messages. It is NOT bound to VST, ASIO or any particular app. (don't confuse this port with kXi, which is a VSTi for automation in a VSTi compatible host) /LeMury |
