rolleyes Synth Compatibility

Does anybody know very well and may explain options in Driver Compatibility and specialy the Synth Compatibility?

For example after changing any synth option the kxmixer reload is required or just closing the window or keeping opened? And the midi playback has to be reinitiated?

I'm trying to do something with synth options because midi sounds worse than with CL drivers.
I can't hear any differences combining with Synth Compatibility options during playback.
