test is on a distinguished road

Problems connecting CASIO CTK 530 to SB Live (build 0220) via kx-project. Anyone?

I connected CASIO CTK 530 via game-port to SB Live (build 0220) and have no problems sending midi signals from PC to CASIO.

...HOWEVER, signals from CASIO to the host-PC are not "perceived" by the PC at all. I have soundfont loaded and evrything running but somehow CASIO's midi signals have no effect on PC no matter what sequensor or other midi-soft I use. Could it be that I am missing something in some KX-settings??

Thanks in advance.

Is your MIDI cable ok? Can you check it?

try using another midi cable, or using a program like Midi-Ox to check if there is any MIDI data getting sent to the computer. Do this first, and then try another cable… if that doesn't work you either have 2 dodgy midi cables or a damaged midi port on the synth

Hi!

To check your casio´s MIDI out and/or cables, simply attach one LED (Luminescence Diode, ask a friend if you don´t have one) to the out port to pins 1 and 3 (next to the middle pin), try also to reverse the LED. If you send MIDI (playback a demo?) then the LED must flash around - if not, the port or cable is damaged. If yes, then connect the cable once again to the computer and follow the tips from above.

Greetings!

Sounds like you haven't setup the midi-thru in your sequencers.
This should be set to either Synth or Synth2.
