KX and Cubase SX w/ SOundblaster Live/ Windows XP Pro===no sound

Before KX:

Cubase recording sounds with VST Instruments with Midi keyboard---all working, but the Cubase extremely latent (like a half a second)

DL'd XP

I can not HEAR what I'm recording at all!---the meters move at the exact time I hit the keys, but no sound---help?

Thanks for your help, but everything (CD player, Winamp, MP3s,stuff off Kazaa) sound fine, but even thought the meters are moving, not only does my MIDI make no sound, but imported WAV data also makes no sound even though the attendant meters move in correct sequence.

Frustrating!!

you have to load a soundfont for midi playback, refer to the soundfont page of the Getting Started Guide for steps on how to do this. You may have to find your creative CD and load soundfonts off that

This is a bit much for my little brain. Why did it work before but now with KX it doesn't? And why is it that it isn't just MIDI that doesnt sound, but even imported WAV files on the track don't sound either?

It's as if Cubase is disconnected from my sound card. This is new, since it worked with Soundblaster, albiet with latency.

I'm a simple guy---I hope there's a simple sollution.

Thanks for trying!

Re: Re: Re: KX and Cubase SX w/ SOundblaster Live/ Windows XP Pro===no sound

I discovered it was that I have to set kx to 48000.
That'll do that. Time for a new sound card.

Any suggestions? I sorta blew my wad on Cubase---hoping for something efficient and a bit cheap.

Now, when I start Cubase, it gets to loading the ASIO settings and promptly shuts down my computer. Dididn't do that before I changed the settings to 48000.

I can only guess it's a conflict with KX. I hope there's an answer to this.

This might help

Try checking out my settings and pic files that I use for Cubase.
Http://www.pacifier.com/~tbisson and click on the links page. You will find the KX setup files there
Hope this helps
