.ea2 Environmental Audio presets (+ gm usage in general)
I've been getting into old DOS-games again lately, and in my quest of getting the most of their midi-musics, I've downloaded some large GM-soundfonts. Now some of them, for instance the GeneralUser GS 1.35 come with .ea2 -files (in the case of the GU bank, it's 'Frank's Custom Reverb.ea2'), which I gather to be EAX -effect presets. I must admit that I'm a bit confused with these. Can I use them with the kX drivers, and if so, how?
If not, can you guys give any other advise on getting the midi-musics sound as good as possible? Is it possible have kX rout the signal so that *only* midi-signal goes through some effects, and all other playback is dry? If so, how? What effects would you then suggest to use with midi? Finally, any suggestions for good GM-banks that would be most suitable for gaming usage? I've heard recommendations for Silverspring and Reality GS/GM -banls, but can't seem to find them anywhere... Thanks in advance. |

eax doesn't work currently with kX
for the SF effects, in the DSP, connect fxbus2 and fxbus3 to the effects you want, and then return the wires to the original place in the xrouting
