mchasard is on a distinguished road

looking for a free general soundfonts ?

i would like to see how the soundfonts are working in KX project about the latency ...but i don't where to find an excellent gm soundfonts to test it ...

i have a SB live 5.1 ...and use the last beta kx driver ...but actually the midi playback is with Roland Scv virtual synthesis but there's so much lantency when i play on my keyboards via the joystick port midi ...

what can i do ? the fact to use soundfont directly with kx could make desappear those latency troubles ?

thanks in advance ...

Hi mchasard:

You can find free GM soundfonts here: http://www.hammersound.net/

There are a lot of free soundfonts of all kinds at HammerSound!

However, because they are free you may encounter that some may not be what you esteem to be excellent. Give 'em a listen and see what's up with them for you.

Sincerely, thomasabarnes

There are GM soundfonts in the Creative cd that came with your sound card. They are not excellent, but are good enough to see what soundfont technology is all about. Just search the cd for .sf2 file extension.
