How does ALL NOTES OFF work in kX
I have a multi-voiced system that emulates an organ. When I turn off a particular voice (stop) with notes sounding, I want to silence that voice without affecting those voices still turned on. I am doing this by sending a MIDI controller message 123 (All Notes Off) to the channel that produces the voice I have just turned off. However, this message is turning off all notes on all MIDI channels of the SB Live card receiving the All Notes Off message. I am using three SB Live cards, and voices sounding from the other two cards continue sounding. Apparently the Creative drivers treat All Notes Off as channel specific. How do the kX drivers implement All Notes Off in a multi-sound card, multi-channel system? Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do?

this is a bug in present driver implementation.
I've fixed it -- the next version will handle 'all notes off' / 'all sounds off' messages correctly. thanks for reporting E. |
