Strange latency issue
Hi. I have a very strange issue. I'm using a Creative Live SB5.1. When i record midi with my synth, the latency is constantly increasing. But you here it normaly. The latency occurs only in the record track. I'm using Cubase VST32 5.0. I've tried with the original drivers, and with the KX drivers. The same problem. The audio is fine.
Os: Win XP SP1 CPU: AMD's Sempron 2.2+ AC: Creative SB Live 5.1 MB: Gigabyte (don't know exact model). If anyone can help, it would be great! Thanks in advance. |

not sure, but do the drivers have an option for latency in the Control Panel? I have a M-Audio Delta44 and that's what helped me with my latency. Also, you might want to try
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=951 Your sound card should come up. Set the latency down to 128 @ the lowest. Test it man. I believe this is the same option as my driver control panel latency option.

I am having the same problem. I recently built a new system for my dad to do his recording work with and this issue has been a show stopper for him. It occurs in both Finale 2004, 2005 and Cubase VST. After starting either program he is able to record in time for about a minute after which point the record track becomes badly out of sync. The strangest thing as Shai Hulud described, is that the notes always appear on the screen and are heard the instant they are played, yet they are recorded out of sync. I have also tried both the Creative and Kx drivers. I've used the PCI latency tool to reduce the latency hogging video card and will try bumping the value for the sound card tomorow and report back.

I tried using the PCI latency tool to set the value for the Audigy 2 ZS from 32 to 128. This did not resolve the problem. I also tried prioritizing the IRQ of the sound card in the registry and this did not help either. Any other suggestions?

Has anyone had this problem with M-Audio cards? I would consider replacing the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro if I had some reasonable assurance that it is the card that's at fault.

For myself, this occurs in Finale 2004 and 2005 in addition to cubase software.

Check if your sequencer + projects is set entirely to 48khz..!! (including all previous recorded audio)
Check/set Multimedia properties->full hw acceleration. /LeMury |

The suggested settings didn't work LeMury. Also, the problem is with midi only, it seems those settings were for audio recording.
Going to buy an M-Audio Audiophile card and see if that fixes things, I really hope so as I don't want to have to look at troubleshooting the entire system. |
