advice-soundfontts

Hello everyone,

I'm just getting into soundfonts, and I mostly want to use soundfonts for drum sounds. I am trying to decide if I should use the hardware synth or find a sofware equivelent. I am using cakewalk pro audio 8 and it doesn't support ASIO or vst, so if I use a softsynth it will be tricky to configure because of these issues. The thing I'm mostly afraid of is the socalled "attack" bug in the KX driver, since I'm interested in the drum sounds.

Of course there is the lack of modulator support...

Can anyone comment, including what softsynth you are using??

Thanks!!
