What module for LiveDrive Midi In/Out

Hello!

I am finally getting this stuff...I think. I at least have now got my winamp making noise out of my speakers using only the DSP editor.

Here is the basic question I have.

I have created a DSP setup using the ProFX modules. I am guessing there is a selection in the Src module which utilizes the LiveDrive MIDi in/out ports, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to patch a Src module which enables me to trigger VSTi in Cubase SX using the KX ASIO with my external MIDi keyboard.

Can somebody please help me? A sample DSP diagram with a similar setup would tickle me to tears.

Hi!

SRC plugin has nothing to do with MIDI, nor the DSP. Your card has one or two UARTs onboard that you have to activate in cubase and then create a MIDI track, select as input UART2 (for the drive), as output a VSTi and switch on the monitoring function. Connect your keyboard and play on the selected MIDIchannel - that´s it.

The monitor fuction in cubase is track specific. Use it to hear the input on that track. If its an audio track you will hear the input plus any effects loaded on that track. If its a midi track with an assigned VSTi then you will hear its playback. This of course is software monitoring where everyone is trying to achieve as low as latency as possible.

O.K. I am back. I have determined it is not only Cubase in which I have lost my remote controller function. I have been trying to pin down why I can no longer control VSTi in Cubase and tried it in Fruity. It is not functioning there anymore either.

It seems like an odd coincidence that the only thing I have changed is my DSP setup in KX Driver to cause this to stop functioning, yet TravelRec says that it has nothing to do with it.

Just so I am clear, there is definetly nothing that needs to be routed in KX to enable the MiDI in port on live drive to be active as my Uart in, right?

If not, any ideas why this is now happening? I have confirmed the live drive is functioning because the headphone out port is active.

All I have setup in my DSP is two SRC modules for ASIO a SRC for WAV the ASIO module, the MX6 module and K1LT

Thanks!

You are correct, The DSP handles audio only. Are you sure your keyborad is sending midi? Try www.midiox.com midiox has a nice midi data in/out monitor. with it you can see the midi data coming and going. It might help you track your problem down. Personally I use the MidiMan 2X2 USB. I make a midi track in Cubase and select the midi IN port on the track properties, that should be all there is to it.
