Midi problem cubasis with DJX II

I have a sounblaster platinum ex 2 card and yamahaīs djx II keyboard which I want to use in connection with cubasis VST . The problem is that I canīt get any sound from the keyboard. The cable is connected from midi out on the keyboard to sb 2 midi in. I have tried several midi connection settings within cubasis but no luck. Am I missing something?



HELP Please

Asrock k7s8xe+ motherboard
Nvidia XFX 5200
Soundblaster Platinum 2 ex

System Specs

are you tryign to record audio from the keyboard, or get the keyboard to trigger a synth or something on the computer?

you need to connect the audio output of the keyboard to the soundcard

Are you telling me not to use the midi connection but the connection that says line in or mic-in in the sound card?

If you want to record midi events to play sond with a computer-generated synth, thenn connect the MIDI cables. If you want to record the sound of the keyboard, then connect itīs output to any soundcard input (i.e. Line In). If you want to record both of them, then connect MIDI and AUDIO cables. Read Help file of cubasis!
