soundfont FX dont work with kxsfi?

hi,
any idea why pre programmed soundfont fx dont seem to work when you play the font thro the kxsfi synth (I'm using DSP profx)?

Also I have soundfonts loaded into kxsfi and can hear the [color=red]DSP added[/color] fx when the soundfonts are accessed (in midi out) but as soon as i use the cubase vst synth a1 i can hear the note but there are no fx even though they are up in MX6 .

A1 gives it´s sound via audio-stream, SoundFonts are playing via the hardware synth(s). Are you sure you have all routed correctly? Check in DSP with peak, whether the levels are reaching the plugin or not.

youre right and thanks... there is no output into DSP. I see now that A1 is audio and have picked up the signal in fx 0/1 (same as the audio from media player, wav files etc.) the fx work fine now but the problem i have now is [color=red]all[/color] audio have the fx i have applied to a1! can i seperate the A1 from all other audio (wav files in cubase and media player etc?) or am i stuffed?

Also im still not sure why i am not hearing the preprogrammed soundfont fx thro kxsfi. is this kxsfi cant do?

Sure, you can do that. Open another cubase output bus and switch it to wave 4/5 (for example). Activate the bus. Now you can set in the main mixer of cubase that bus as FX-Send output in the channel-strip of the A1. The signal now appears in the DSP at FXBus4/5. Now you can apply there your FX and then route it to a physical output of your card or feed it back into a different ASIO input, so that you can record or remix it in cubase. Have fun!

thanx for that, had a go, lots of fiddling and finally got to seperate them, dont quite know how i did it but i did. saved it as a template so its there now!

still unsure how come soundfonts that already have fx on them dont seem to play the fx in kxsfi, any idea? (doesnt matter too mush as i can add dsp fx to them.)

1. kXSFi midi SF playback works the same as 'normal' kXSynth, so all SF parameters are/act the same including fx.

2. 'pre programmed soundfont fx' (as you call it) just tells the sf engine to send a portion
of the sf preset signal to fxbus 13/14.
Well, if you don't pick up fxbus 13/14 in the dsp and don't route them through a Reverb/Chorus, you won't hear any fx..

.
(There is no fx *in* the SoundFont itself)

3. Don't confuse hardware SoundFont midi playback with VST Midi Instruments (VSTi).

yeah, got it with the vsti's too. a bit mind boggling with all the busses and outputs but getting the hang of it... slowly.
actually writing songs again now after months of stagnation.... the kx drivers 100% helped with this... so thanx for your hard work lemury et al.
