Sad Loading Soundfonts in Cubase SX

I'll start this by asking you to excuse my ignorance as I'm very new to all this soundfont stuff. In fact I'm new to Cubase SX as well!!

Is anybody willing and able to give me a step by step guide to loading and recording soundfonts in Cubase SX? I've got as far as loading the soundfont into KX Mixer and I think I've setup the DSP routing ok (although I'm not sure I've connected it to the correct ASIO port), but what do I need to do in Cubase so that it's recognised?

I'm using Cubase SX 2.2 and have a Soundblaster Live Platinum card with the KX drivers installed.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Thanks for this. It looks to be exactly what I need so I'll give it a go. Cheers.

I’m having problems with this. In the setup guide, it says to load Wave Generator and ProFX and to wire the Sine output to ProFX’s ASIO. I’ve done this but when I open up the mixer in Cubase SX no output is showing on any of the channels, unlike the screenshot in the setup guide. I suspect it may be something to do with my MIDI setup but I’ve checked the settings and can’t find anything wrong. My keyboard has onboard sounds and if I run Cubase VST and select a MIDI track, then I can play those sounds and listen to them through headphones connected to my soundcard. However, if I try the same thing in Cubase SX I can’t hear a thing. What am I doing wrong??

Everything now works fine. The problem was nothing to do with any setup but the soundfont I was using. I've tried with other soundfonts and there are no problems. Thanks for your help Thomas.
