This is not exactly kX-related, but I've had this issue with both kX and Creative drivers and with Live! and Audigy 4 Pro-cards.
The problem is that Cubase SX (2.0 and 2.2) midi input suddenly stops working when I (usually accidentally) press program change buttons on my Yamaha Clavinova. Some other buttons not related to program change have also this effect. I don't know what kind of MIDI messages the Clavinova sends there, but it always manages to break Cubase's midi input. The midi input activity "meter" shows no signs of life after this has happened. Usually restarting Cubase is enough to solve this, but sometimes a reboot is necessary. I know this is not a major problem, but it is very annoying and I'd have some real use for the program change buttons. EDIT: Now I managed to do some MIDI capture: Clavinova just sends program/control changes and/or Yamaha-specific sysex data when pressing those buttons. The sysex data (some buttons generate only sysex messages) seems to be enough to break the midi input... Last edited by Turja; Jun 2, 2005 at 12:57 PM. |

Use MIDI-OX program to monitor the messages, then reply with more facts. Try another simple MIDI-recording program or sequencer to check this issue.
