Cubase SX 2.0.1 doesn't record midi properly
Hi everyone,
I have this problem trying to record my keystrokes in Cubase SX using KX 3537. When I play a sequence the notes are recorded randomly. This didn't happen when I used the original Creative drivers. With soundfonts it's no big deal since there isn't any latency when playing and recording soundfonts, but with VSTi's it's impossible because of huge latency. That's why I prefer KX drivers over Creative drivers among other reasons. I have to play the notes with the mouse now but it isn't an optimal situation. Am I overlooking something? I'm using Creative Prodikeys on a Athlon XP 2400 with 1 GB of RAM and a SBLive Value. My OS is WIndows XP SP2. Can someone help me please. |

Have you setup SX to use the kX ASIO driver and set the ASIO panel to a useable latency setting? This is done in Device setup in SX. There is a guide for setup help with kX and Cubase SX. Why not read it to get setup correctly? Here's the link: http://driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=57078

Midi recordings are out of sync
Thanx for replying Thomas...
I read the setup guide but it's for recording audio while my problem is a midi controller/key editor issue. Today I gave it a try with a new midi controller keyboard (Prodikeys DM) and it records the sequence properly but it's out of sync with the metronome. It's actually a couple of seconds ahead of the transport. Does someone know why this happens? Could it be a driver incompatibility issue since my midi controller is also from Creative. Or does it have something to do with latency. Why didn't this occur with Creative drivers. Please help. |

1.Make sure you use/set 48khz samplerate in Cubase.
2.Is your midi keyboard USB or does it use 'standard Midi port'. |

My midi keyboard is ps/2 see link http://www.prodikeys.com/ it is a pc keyboard as well as a midi controller keyboard. And another strange thing is when I start Cubase it says samplerate could not be set. I really don't understand it. Next week I'm gonna upgrade to an audigy zs I hope it works better then... For now I just have to play the notes with the mouse instead.

I got it all figured out. I synchronised cubase to my sblive internal clock which I shouldn't have done.
Now I don't use synchronisation and it records the notes at the same moment I press the key. What a relief. Thnx to all of you for your response. |

I messed up... It still doesn't work. I stumbled upon a forum in Russian. Couldn't even display it properly but it said the word prodikeys multiple times. And it was replied by Eugene Gavrilov himself.
Anyone understands Russian? Could you translate this http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...t=prodikeysfor me please. Maybe it says something that I can use. Please help me... |

like lemury said you need to set the samplerate to 48khz. select project setup from the project menu
create a template with it set so you don't have to set it for each new project. |
