Hi,
I have got a Live 5.1 with kX and and I use Cubase SX. I can load the soundfonts into the Bank Manager but I can not change the bank number and the program change in the Inspector. That means I can not use the soundfonts in SX although it worked well before /with creative driver/. Have you got any idea to find sollution ? Thanx |

Alanpp / lamp : Are you using the 3528 or 3529 version of the Kx drivers?
I use the 3528 version. I have problems with the soundfonts as well, dunno how much is fixed in 3529, but the trouble I have is that I can't access any other bank than the first "0", in Cubase 5.1 named as "Custom Synth". This is If I've added the banks via Kx-soundfont loader. I tried to load the banks via the soundfont manager in Cubase 5.1, where I was able to put up different banks, and they showed up correctly in Cubase. This is something I only managed to do once, there are problems with this method also. Hmmm.. very strange. Another problem I've had is this : if I have Cubase running in the background (not doing anything) while loading the soundfonts, it seems to loose it's MIDI-IN connection. When I load the soundfont, the computer seems to freeze for a moment, and it's probably in this moment where Cubase looses the connection. I have to restart Cubase to get the MIDI-IN working again. The soundfont-loader in Kx is not much to hang up in the christmastree either. ;-) I am looking forward to see a loader which is more in the style of the Aps-loader, or Cubase's internal soundfontloader, preferably the first-mentioned. The Aps-soundfontloader also has a fileformat for load/saving soundfont-settings (like bankorder of soundfonts etc) , this would be great if it existed in Kx as well. ![]() It would be really convenient if it also could load aps's settingfiles (*.sbs) as well. There shouldn't be any compability issues with including that. (unlike dealing with aps-mixersettings, which is a totally different issue) Phew.. wrote this in a hurry, so hope you people understand. I'll also say again that I'm using the 3528 version, some of this stuff might have been fixed in 3529. If something's unclear, just ask and I'll try to explain what I mean better. Kx rocks! I'd love to see the soundfont-part rock as well. ![]() // encore |

unfortunately, Cubase SX doesn't support multiple SoundFont devices.
this is a known limitation (the same for Sonar...) so, only one syth device is recognized as SoundFont-compatible also, some versions of Cubase SX are known to be very unstable when dealing with SoundFonts please, upgrade we will also try to fix all the known issues with SoundFonts soon... /Eugene |

Well, i've been trying 'em all lately
![]() And i can cope with that if only synth1 is recognized as sf-compatible.. but seems so far SX has different routine understanding soundfont devices than older cubases.. vst5 and 3.7 were fine. to encore: i'm using just one soundfont, custom made, with 8-9 banks.. and i was able to select between banks.. haven't tried loading more than one soundfont to kx though.. to Eugene: thank You for reply
