CoolIT MTEC Docking Station Featured at Intel Developers Forum Keynote

Taiwan – October 21st, 2008 –
After collaborating with Intel this summer to develop the ultimate cooling solution for Intel® Core™2 Extreme mobile processor based laptops, CoolIT is proud to announce the its involvement at the IDF keynote presentation today in Taiwan. Shmuel (Mooly) Eden, Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Platforms Group, officially unveiled the production design of the MTEC Docking Station to thousands of audience members as he discussed the merits of effective CPU cooling with the new line of processors including the first mobile quad core processor - the Intel® Core®2 Extreme mobile processor QX9300.

“It has been a great experience to work with Intel on this project” states Geoff Lyon, CEO of CoolIT Systems. “The combination of the MTEC Docking Station and the Intel® Core®2 Extreme mobile processor QX9300, now truly provides desktop performance to a mobile platform.”

CoolIT Systems’ new MTEC docking station effectively enables safe, yet powerful overclocking on the mobile quad core. The final design features an efficient, software controlled thermoelectric chilled air design to deliver more than 10°C improvement for the CPU and GPU’s. In an effort to make this product even more appealing for the mobile gamer, the MTEC Docking station features a folding front platform allowing for easy transport, making it the perfect accessory for the LAN Party enthusiasts who wants the convenience of a mobile platform but don’t want to compromise performance. Another advancement being demonstrated is the MTEC Software controls integrated with Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility which provides all tuning controls from a consistent interface and maintains safe CPU settings if the Computer is removed from the Dock while running.

“Our engineering team collaborated closely with CoolIT Systems to create an innovative way to truly maximize performance and unlock the true potential of the new Intel® Core®2 Extreme mobile processor QX9300,” states Rajiv Mongia of Intel.

The MTEC Docking Station will be available in Q1 2009 from select OEM partners with the end user price expected to range from $140 – 180.

Is there a linkable PR? I could, I suppose, post all this to the FP, but I'd prefer a linkable PR.
