A problem with ATI's drivers in DOOM 3?

RECENTLY, WE RECEIVED a tip, some information claiming ATI's drivers exhibited some odd behavior in DOOM 3 and that the company might be compromising image quality for performance. What's more, this problem seemed to be specific to DOOM 3, raising the possibility that ATI was guilty of engaging in an application-specific optimization—a practice the firm has forsworn.

Naturally, we were interested in the possibility of uncovering such a scandalous thing. We've dug into [color=#0000ff]such[/color] [color=#0000ff]juicy[/color] [color=#0000ff]stories[/color] in the past, and the results have sometimes been rather enlightening. So we fired up our test rigs, busted out our sleuthing skills, and set out to see what exactly was happening with ATI's drivers in DOOM 3. [color=#0000ff]Read on[/color] to see what we found.

Also guys I see people are just copying and pasting text from other articles. You need to be careful with this.

"Why?" you ask.

Its simple, look at Me972s post above, its copied not only the image from the article but the font colouring etc. The WYSIWYG editor is very powerful, If you are presenting articles for posting please follow MIG31s guidelines for presentation.

A little tip after copying and pasting text before hitting submit is to "control A" all the text then press the little icon with the red X right next to the font selection palette in the editor which is located top left, this removes all formatting from copied text.

this is the whole point of posting the news submitions post.

would very much appreciate if this were read and followed.this is simple to follow and the main reason of this guide line i do not always have the time to edit all news submitions by driverheaven members.

same goes for images...this is reserved for admins only.
