Wireless USB hub reference design unveiled

Campbell CA) - Wisair today announced a reference platform for a wireless USB hub - as a move into a direction that decreases the amount of cables cluttering a user's desktop. The Wisair design consists of a WUSB PC dongle and a WUSB hub to provide wireless connectivity to new and existing USB-enabled devices.

According to Wisair, all common USB peripherals, such Printers, scanners, remote hard disks, digital cameras and cellular devices are able to plug directly into the WUSB Hub and receive wireless connectivity to a PC. The hub reference design integrates four ports for connecting devices and offers a bandwidth of up to 480 Mbit per second in a frequency between 3.1 and 4.8 GHz. The maximum distance between peripherals and hub is 30 feet.
