Home networking with Win 7....
Ok, haven't worked with Vista much and I know they've improved it a lot with SP1 however one of the main reasons I haven't switched was because of how slow accessing anything on the network was. The one bright point was that when I clicked on the network tab, my server still showed up.
Win 7 though? Nothing shows up except itself. I can access my home server by going to Start\run\server name however if I click on the network tab, nothing shows. Not the other machines, not the server, nothing except itself. I don't have a domain set up however I am running Server 2003 in a Work Group with account/pass/permissions setup on both the Server and the Win 7 box to access certain things. Problem is, it doesn't show up. I'm sure if I screw around with it enough, I'll find a better way of the network showing up however at this point, looking for some suggestions/reason's why it's acting as such. So far, this is the only Win 7 box on the network. Jand. |
