Win 7 & ccc 9.3

I know that a lot of us have been using been using the CCC 9.2's for Vista 64 in WIN 7. Looks like ATI is making it 'official' now.

This is in the release notes for the latest Cats.

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

you try these out yet buzzard? runnin 7_7057 x64 here with the cat 9.2s. have done a lil gaming with cod 4 and some source titles and they run great.

they seemed to have touched on issues i'm seeing, that being slight corruption of some windows borders after resizing, also MPC-HC from the k lite codec pack seems to display considerably more corruption when resizing and going full screen, leaving parts of the border behind in the video.

again this is on windows 7 7057 x64 with the 9.2 drivers installed, im hoping the 9.3s can take care of this. ill givem a shot in a bit,

only two issues thus far with 7, this small situation with the GPU drivers and the driver for my x-meridian(dated 3 2008 i believe). its a universal package for xp/vista 32/64, the control panel were different for each (xp/vista), upon installing i am prompted to run the compatibility wizard, which gets the driver installed (just hangs with out compat wizard) but it installs the old cp, i've only ever seen in xp. wonder if the way audio is handled in 7 differs from vista?

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

I've been running build 7057 using the default driver for a couple of days since this was coming out, and was surprised how well it handled new games like Empire:TotalWar. Anyway now I've played a bit with 9.3 and it's also fine, possibly a tad bit smoother. I had an accelerated video playback issue until after I had restarted once, so 1080p video plays fine(like <5% typical CPU draw) with MPC-HomeCinema.

OpenGL acceleration for Photoshop CS4 isn't doing so well unless I turn off Aero, but that could possible be something related Windows 7 itself.

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

I installed them on a "Throw away" install of Win 7, and it didn't go well at all. Could be that the D/L was corrupted though.

Once installed, when I went into the CCC, there was no DISPLAYS MANAGER tab !!!! Also, was a LOT of 'monitors turning on an off' during the install as well. Something I don't normally see.

I re-D/Led the drivers, and installed them in my main Vista 64 partition after making a backup of it with HyperOS, and that went well.

I'm making a clone of my 'good' Win 7 partition, and will try installing again with the re-D/Led drivers, and give an update later on how that went.

Gotta love HyperOS when you are doing a lot of beta testing

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

got them installed, haven't done any gaming yet, the install went fine after a driver cleaner run in safe mode, i too am missing the display manager tab. seems to be a the same as the preview driver.

the window and seek bar corruption i was seeing in mpc hc is gone and the internal h.264\vc1 filters are working. they did as well in the 9.2s but the key part for myself that did not function properly was the overlay shaders. in the 9.2 i would enable and MPC HC would return "can't load shader", now the 16-235 to 0-255 is back in action.

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

Cat 3 Win7&Vista64 driver and cc are working ok here..Performance is low in EverQuest.. going to try the Vista64 agp hotfix drivers and see if there is any improvement.

Probably going to format and go back to Win7 x86..it's more compatable with my older rig...not only does EQ run better but I can use my Logitech DiNovo in bluetooth
mode. Setpoint Vista64 drivers lock up the whole usb system as soon as pairing is attempted...XP 32 bit setpoint drivers runs fine in Win7 x86 vista 32 fails also.

I mainly wanted to compare Win7 x64 to Mandriva Linux x64...on my system Mandy 64 wins..EQ runs in Wine better than this.

Re: Win 7 & ccc 9.3

I had to revert to 9.3 with the build 7077. Install of 9.4 was borked from the begining, the Cat Instal Manager, CCC and Visual C++ were my install options. The driver was never even listed as an option to install. The items listed appeared to install but the driver did not. CCC would not open with the default MS ATI driver. Installed the driver portion manually then CCC would open and some things function like fan speed control worked but the new Overdrive didnt work and after manually adjusting clock speeds they had zero effect on performance. At least 9.3 functions fine
