Yeah, sorry. I just saw that in the install instructions page.... it also said they are not providing support for this RC build, which I find pretty slimy....... Like, "here it is..... good luck!"

I think there's people monitoring their forums, but I've never been there, so not sure about that either.

Yeah, like you said, XP Mode hasn't been out in the wild that long. Similar problems ought to crop up soon.

there are several Intel based processors that dont work with the Virtual XP mode so perhaps that could be an issue

It shouldn't install in the first instance if that were the case. The only pre-requisite is hardware support for virtualization. The AMD Turion X2 Ultra that I'm using supports it, and I enabled it in the BIOS prior to installation.

So, I did the download this morning, burned the ISO and installed it on this HP DC5000 that I use for most of my internet stuff. Pentium4 2.8, 512 Mb, Mobo graphics and audio, Linksys wireless adaptor, etc....... Basicly a dog but it does okay with XP. I had run the beta on it for a while until it crapped out, so I removed that about a month ago.

This RC1 seems smoother than the beta and now that all the drivers are installed it's pretty nice. I'll see how stable it is in a few weeks......... the beta tended to change as time went on without me doing anything.

Not sure if I'm going to install Win7 on any of my other setups......

I have run stable here since build 7000 but running 64 bit I haven't bothered with the 32 bit so not sure how it works.
