??? Win 7 RC Multiple Installs with evaluation key?

I am wondering if you are allowed to have multiple installs of Windows 7 RC using the evaluation key? I am about a week away from a new PC build and would like to install it now on my current rig, then again on the new rig next week.

Re: Win 7 RC Multiple Installs with evaluation key?

I doubt that MS is going to be real 'picky' about keys for RX1 since it's time limited anyway.

Are you replacing your system with the new one, or are you planning on using both? If the former, then I'd just install RC1 without the key. I think that WIN 7 would allow you to so that, since Vista did.

If you are planning on keeping both systems running WIN 7...shoot me a PM.

Re: Win 7 RC Multiple Installs with evaluation key?

As far as I know you can use the key over and over again. I've clicked to download the RC a couple times from home or work, and have seen the same key pop up every now and again. The site has even given me a key for the x64 version when it had given me that same key 10 runs prior on the x32 version. Things is that sometimes it would pop up a key that I've even seen posted on a couple download sites. That leads me to believe that it's not a one time user key, but rather a small pool of keys MS is using, otherwise I should never see that key again, anywhere.

I've seen a list on the NET of 15 keys for the RC and the one I was given is on it. Guess it is a small controlled pool of keys

Yeah, I got the same email as Tyrsonswood - up to three machines per key.

However, you can use your Technet ID (register...), which is exactly the same as your Windows Live or Hotmail account and password to get key after key after key on this page.
