Win 7 & Nehalem EP W5580 system = crapfest
Well ive mentioned how poor Win 7 is with the Nehalem EP system ive reviewed on DH before. I just filed a report with Microsoft again to give them more information on some rather massive issues im experiencing. None of which are apparent on Vista.

This is "idle" sitting doing nothing after a few minutes .......

It's such strange as I don't hit even 10% with C2D "idle", Aren't there any background operations the windows does by itself like defragment or something ?

Yes there are indeed, but look at the spikes on the graphs, its perfectly symmetrical - so it is a CPU priority issue on some level. This is with the RC1 and a slightly newer build, im sure they will sort it out however

That ...... that looks pretty interesting actually..

of all things i would have figured that they would have been able to grasp 16 threads.... but then again ... rc.... works in vista..... probably just someone forgetting the rest of the screws in the newer kernal.

Yep , they are pretty similar in all cores/HT although most built-in windows applications don't support multicore processing , btw what is the highest process in cpu usage in Task manager

That's just plain messed up, what's that first core doing? Strange bug to actually introduce, hopefully an easy fix.

Might want to go to Intel and have them approach MS, if they don't want to listen up.
