Is this a 64-bit version? What are your computers other specs?

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

The latest driver for you card would be the CAT 9.3's

You can use the VISTA drivers for Win 7.

Vista 32 Bit Drivers:
ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

Vista 64 Bit Drivers:
ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

thanks for replies.. its 32 version, i have toshiba a210-19a, 2GB ram, windows 7 downloaded form Microsoft web site, updated, i installed the catalyst 9.3 but opening and closing windows its the same. i googled a bit about that and it seems it is a well knows issue with win 7 also on newest ati video cards.. hope they will fix it or release an update, otherwise i will have to switch aero off..

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

Well, your computer certainly meets the requirements. If you can't find anything to help you could try a fresh install.

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade?

Partition or whole drive?

I haven't noticed any difference...but then, my system specs are a wee bit higher than yours.

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

ok, i installed 9.3 catalyst driver.. no change.. before i installed this new driver, i went to device manager and check the drier version for my video card, it was 8.561 something, after installation and reboot of the new driver it was the same driver version number. hmm. anyway, this is the thread about it where some people report the same problem.

Code:
http://www.jcxp.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=35560&st=120
(i hope its ok that i put the link in code)

btw.. wats the latest version build number? is it the same when i installed win 7 two or three weeks ago and always updated it with latest updates?

my version is 7100.0.090421-1700_x86

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

I see that after I posted the links to the 9.3 drivers that you have a LAPTOP. You should have probably used the MOBILITY MODDER on them before you installed them?

You can get the Mobility Modder here:
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php

If I would have known that it was a lappy I would have added that to my first post.

Re: windows 7 slow aero??

i installed 64bit version of win 7 and still especially closing windows drives me crazy.. its definitly not so smooth as in vista.. theres is maybe a 0,1 second break while closing any window.. i installed 9.3 catalyst drier, i used mobility modder but dont think it went well, it said that the driver modification is done, then i used setup, it went through the installation but after i restarted windows 7 installed automatically its original driver....

i was thinking maybe a little video about my problem would be the best for you guys, so you can better imagine whats going on with me but i dont know wich software to use..
