RC version got activated?
So I've downloaded the RC version when it was still possible.. running the 7057 build for some time now.
I really love Windows 7, I think they've did an outstanding job on this one.
But it always failed to activate. I thought that was normal, considering it was the RC build.

But today it activated and I was like, how is that possible. and even more important, what does this mean for my windows installation..?

anybody know?

RC is good till march of next year.... i don't think i've ever had a problem activating though

what will happen in March then.. It will fail the check and I won't be getting updates anymore, right?

If i remember correctly... one month before (For the RC) over time it will become less responsive as time goes by... And your pc will randomly shut down...

On the final day you will either need to reinstall the previous OS or require to install a Retail version of win 7.

damn.. that is quite intrusive. Didn't think they would be that aggressive. that kinda sucks.. I was hoping to run this build for quite some time. Seems I will have to buy a copy sooner than I wanted to..

But the activation of the RC version means nothing?

No, not really, it's strange that you were unable to activate it before (though I've heard of, and experienced, on-line activation problems, even with retail versions of Windows). Well, if you meant to purchase it anyway...
