x86 and x64 product keys the same?
I attended the microsoft launch party today in NYC and got a free copy of windows 7 ultimate. It has a product key in it but only the x86 dvd. Is my product key good for both x86 and x64? If so I can have a buddy get me the install dvd for x64 off msdn.

Yes
you can intermatch... if you installed 32 bit and activate.. you can turn around and install 64bit with the same key on the same machine without an issue.. and then swap back again to 32bit if you don't like 64bit.... No problems at all..
