??? Win7- AVG anti-virus or Win7 Defender

I'm going to go to Win7 Nov 1st. I'm now using Windows Vista HP X64. I have been using AVG anti-virus with firewall for 5 years now with no problems. Last week-end AVG updated to version 9.0.967. Since I updated, now Windows defender is turned off. I'm wondering with Win7 will I need AVG or let Win7 defender handle the anti-virus and malaware issues?

I would go with the new Avast 5 when it's final, they are working the last bugs out in beta at the moment.

Re: Win7- AVG anti-virus or Win7 Defender

My college switched from AVG to Security Essentials on their XP machines, so I suppose that it's regarded good enough.

Re: Win7- AVG anti-virus or Win7 Defender

I would NEVER use Microsoft Security Essentials. Why?

It's properly a fine program, but an free antivirus from Microsoft is going to be the most exposed/attacked anti-virus program.

Re: Win7- AVG anti-virus or Win7 Defender

I advise using a combination of AVG for Anti-virus and Windows Defender for spyware, malware, adware, etc. That should make for a pretty decent security blanket.
