Thief III and Win 7...
I don't know if anyone still plays any of the Thief series at all but Thief III will work on Win 7 after setting it to run As Admin. The only problem I found was that in between map loads, it boots out to the desktop for about 5/8 seconds (which can be blinding if playing in the dark) and then goes right back into the game and works just fine.
I'm using the CCC version 9.11 drivers with two 3870's and Win 7 64 bit. I have not installed and tried Thief I or II yet (I plan on it soon) but if anyone is interested in testing it, trouble shooting links can be found here for Thief I How to make Thief 1 run on a modern computer - Eidos Forums and here for Thief II How to make Thief 2 run on a modern computer - Eidos Forums I posted this here because it is Win 7 specific but if someone wants to move it to gaming forums, that's cool too. I just didn't know where to put this. Jand |

Re: Thief III and Win 7...
Thanks.
I noticed that map loading problem too, but it doesn't bother me too much. I encountered an odd issue that took some time to solve. Apparently the game doesn't like saving data to the Thief 3 folder in My Documents on Windows 7, but it may be because I install all my games to a separate drive. What would happen is as soon as a map begins to load the game just crashes to the desktop without error. To fix this I made a folder on the drive I installed the game to called "ThiefSaves" (the name can be anything you want), and changed the registry entry for the save folder to the new location. If you search around in regedit you can easily find what you need to change. I figured I'd save someone a lot of time and hassle.

Well, I'm using Vista x64, and haven't manage to run the game (that I bought from Direct2Drive).

Re: Thief III and Win 7...
I have the exact same issue with DeusX 2. Once you get used to it, it stops being a bother.
