Win 7 in work environment...
Just wondering if anyone is using Win 7 to support other users and what issues, if any, you've had.
So far there's only a couple of us at work using it but I love it. The admin tools, MS finally did right be releasing a tools set that work right away with Win 7. The AD tools work slick with the exception to the Exchange Admin tools (have to remote into an xp machine with the tools or term into a server). Programs that work so far: Dameware 6.8, Advanced IP scanner 1.5 (used to scan our VPN VLan for users instead of walking them through IPConfig), AD Tools, 4th Shift, SAP, Communicator (more of a end user program) and Active Undelete. Cisco's VPN will work however have to use their Cisco Anyconnect for 64 bit as Cisco is moving away from the IPSec client installs to the SSL Anyconnect. Great concept, not so great in implementation. Hopefully it becomes more stable soon. We have not tried imaging or have a Win 7 License Server setup yet so I don't know how that's going to work yet. That's about it. I can't sleep so I figured I throw this stuff out there. |

Re: Win 7 in work environment...
I've currently setup a few business small mind you but, one of which is relatively large and has multiple sites across the province. The only concern i've got is capability with their cardlock system, otherwise they are quite impressed as they will be moving many machines from windows 98/2000/me/xp to win7
