Robert, did you click yet on the link to "Get Help with this Update?" I advise you to do so if you haven't already.

Also, in some cases, Windows Updates "MAY" show updates that, upon further investigation DO NOT apply to your system. For the time being, I would NOT be too upset about these updates failing. Wait a few more days, get a few more updates, and then see if these install like they should or not. It's quite possible that there may be some other updates needed in order for these to install properly.

I wouldn't go through another format/installation just for this error.

Robert, do me a favor, and go into your Windows\Logs\CBS folder. In there you should see a file called "CBS.log". Open it up with Notepad, and search for all instances of that 80246008 error (do it via Edit | Find from within Notepad). If it shows up you will see a bunch of "Fail" remarks within the same line or lines that the code shows up, and it should tell you what caused the failure.

If you have any trouble with the log, or making heads or tails of it, let me know, and I'll give you my gmail address to send the log file to, or if you can, upload it somewhere so that I can download it.
