Re: screen not fit on Win 7
Couple possibilities:
1) The maximum resolution that Windows 7 sees for your LCD screen is less than what it really is, or that it may even be detecting the wrong display or 2) The ATI Catalyst Control Center is doing the same thing. My first suggestion would be to go into the Catalyst Control Center, and look at the settings for your display. As well, see what options are enabled/disabled as far as "streching" is concerned. One possibility would be to reinstall the drivers you know is working, take note of any settings within the CCC as well as what Windows 7 sees as far as your display is concerned, and then make sure that with the new drivers the same settings/display is used. |

Re: screen not fit on Win 7
Right-click the desktop, and pick Screen Resolution. What does it show as your maximum resolution, and what should it be? Also, goto Advanced Settings, and click the Monitor tab. What does it report there? Generic PnP, or is it specific?
BTW, you didn't mention what laptop you have. Last thing, under the CCC, do you have a section called "Destkop and Displays Manager" If so, go into that section, and right-click your monitor. If Configure is available choose it. You should see scaling options in there. Set it to 0%. If it doesn't show up try a previous set of drivers, ones you know that work, and check that same section for the scaling option. |

Re: screen not fit on Win 7
Right now the only thing I can think of is that the scaling is set to something smaller.
You say you have only basic settings in the CCC, have you tried changing to advanced via the "Views" menu option at the top? Or when you go into the CCC, do you have a menu option called "Graphics", and when you select it, do you have an option for "Desktop and Displays"? If you do, go into that option, and at the bottom you will a picture of a monitor. Right-click it, and you should see a menu option called "Configure". Once in there, go to the "Scaling Options" tab, and change the Scaling option to 0% (or Overscan). Another option, which only allows you to turn on or off scaling, is THIS file. It's a little programs someone created called "ATI GPU Scaling Fix" (actual page is HERE). You get three options: Maintain Aspect Ratio, Scale Image To Fit Panel, and Use Centered Timings. Only problem is you can't change the scaling percentages, which is what I think your issue is. I'll take a look around to see if there is a way to change the registry in order to accomplish this, but give the above suggestions a try first. |
