Big Grin Stopping Incoming ICMP-echo pings

Does anyone know how to stop Incoming-ICMP-echo pings in Win 7 firewall? I don't know about adding inbound rules or anything like that, but I'm willing to learn if that is what I need. In control panel in win firewall, I found the advanced inbound config, but going down the list I didn't see a listing for inbound ICMP-echo pings.

all help is welcomed........

Allow Pings (ICMP Echo Request) Through Your Windows Vista Firewall - How-To Geek

Roll down to Dave Miller's comment - they've put the setting under File & Printer sharing in Win7 - why do they ALWAYS stuff things around from version to version!!!!

Hold on. According to the article ICMP echo pings are automatically blocked in Vista and Windows 7, and the article describes how to "allow" them. So, in affect, the OP doesn't have to do anything since ICMP pings are already blocked, right? Or am I reading this wrong?

I found 6 of the files which were enabled and set to allow. I'm running Win 7 OEM Home Prem. I changed all 6 rules to disabled and in properties I changed to Block. I went to Sheilds up and ran test and it still reports my PC is answering pings from them. I just don't know at this point what else to do........

No you are reading it right, it's just the opposite in my Win 7. I changed the 6 rules to block and disabled but that still didn't change anything with my PC.
