Windows 7 Genuine

Hi all,

I've got a problem with windows 7 genuine. I've downloaded windows 7 Ultimate. It works fine, also i managed to get windows genuine. But after i installed a compaq theme the windows version changed to BUILD 7002 DEMO.

But how can i fix this so the genuine will work again?

Help would be apriciated! Thanks!

So you downloaded a pirated copy of Windows 7 and installed it and now it's not working as you would like it to work.... That is the down side of pirated software they just won't work properly.

btw. The BSA might be monitoring this site and our forum rules states following.

I managed it to get it working as genuine but after i downloaded a theme from microsoft it isnt genuine anymore. Im only asking how can i remove the theme?
Not anything about getting the installation copy.

Yeah I know that. But as I said pirated software usually has it's drawbacks this might be one for you. Now if you would have legal software the solution for this issue would be found in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization and there is the option to change the theme.

Yeah I know what you mean... But is there any other way ? I've tried various things when I had Windows 7 Starter on my netbook... But at the end I got the Anytime upgrade to Home Premium and that solved it.

No, I meant the OPs (genuine) problem. As far as I know, 7 Starter is designed with the limitation which doesn't allow the background to be changed.

Its not windows 7 starter. Its windows 7 ultimate anyways i didnt managed to delete the theme not even with you're suggestion. What now?

What te heck do i need with a licence key if i managed it to get it genuine but after i installed the theme it isnt anymore -.- Its not about a legal windows 7 its about how can i delete a theme.

Downloading the theme got you caught for running an illegal copy of windows.... there's nothing you can do but pay up and go legit.

pay Microsoft by buying a genuine copy of Windows 7.... you know, the ones that they sell at the computer electronics store for a bit of cash?

then proceed to reformat your computer, install Windows 7 and use the REAL CD and key you just bought.

you now have a cleaned out computer with no more compaq theme... good day!

Follow kris23's advice. It's not like Win 7 is all that expensive anyway.

Also, ULTIMATE? 99.9% of the people in the world DO NOT need Ultimate.

Unless you need to run Virtual XP, Home Premium is all that the vast majority of users need. For Virtual XP, you can get by with the Professional version.

Generally "thief" implies "theft", which directly or indirectly implies "take", which piracy isn't as you do not take the original copy - you replicate it. This is where the "you wouldn't steal a car" adverts get terribly morally confused - I daresay most software "pirates" would "steal" a car if that meant replicating one parked on the street without cost to any individual except that caused by a lost potential sale.

That said, I agree entirely with your advice. Unless you just need a copy to quickly try something, Windows is something you generally ought to be paying for.

technically it is theft of intellectual property when the software is activated through improper means... eg. without actually buying a key.

OP has no right to windows updates because of that... so it is theft..

but his crack backfired so all is right with the world.

The helper in me:
Could it just simply be a case of coincidence? That after you installed the theme that Windows Genuine failed due to a check by the OS, or after a background update?

The not so helpful:
The fact remains you have admitted to using a pirated version of Windows 7, that you installed something that tripped GA, or that GA caught you at the same time you installed something (which in both cases means your crack failed), and are asking for help to undo this so that you can continue to use your pirated version of Windows 7. Even if you aren't asking, blatantly, for a crack or to help pirate Windows 7 (although this would be one way to look at your question), you are still asking for help on a copy of Windows that you've blatantly admitted to pirating. That's against this sites rules, and that is why you're receiving such harsh posts.
