Seems to me like the list of fixes is 10x's smaller than the list of known issues.

It's good to know they are working so hard on a patch, as many new great games are being released. Great to know! So did this fix the framerate, or no. It seems like it really didn't.

I installed them last night. I had no improvement in frames for WoW or BF2. Very discouraging.

Not to be condensending, but if this company is capable of creating a Video card that nearly goes the speed of sound, how come they can't make a decent patch for Windows Vista? --sigh--

Here's a possible fix a friend found who was having stutter crashes on Half-Life 2, especially with Episode 1 installed. I'm just gonna quote him:

"I FINALLY figured out why Half Life 2 doesn't crash on my machine, while HL2: Episode One does. I made the rediscovery when I downloaded "HL2: Lost Coast", a level for HL2 that was deleted from the original game, but recently re-released as a seperate download. I got up to the church at the top of the cliff, then suddenly the game hit a stutter crash just like Episode One did. I decided to enable the console by changing the game's Launch Options, then suddenly it dawned on me. I checked Half Life 2's Launch Options, something I hadn't looked at in a very long time (months).... there it was. "-heapsize 256000"

I did some digging and found out THIS was the setting that was keeping HL2 stable. Heapsize describes the amount of RAM allocated for the heap, where it stores temporary data (not entirely sure WHAT, but something to do with AI scripts and such...). The default heapsize is set to 64 MB... which is apparently enough for systems that have faster CPUs and lower RAM. But I have the other way around... a slower CPU (1.8-2 GHz) and more RAM (1 GB). Setting heapsize higher takes up more RAM, but reduces the number of loading pauses... on my system, setting it to 256 MB is enough to stop the stutter crashes."

I hope this works for you guys, as I don't know if you're having the same problems or not.

yea man, you'll get used to it. all the options are still there as they are in the classic CP.

and that's how it's going to be from now on. especially in vista.

what you're experiencing now, is what ATI users had to go through when they went to the CCC .

I just hope at least they release drivers to improve the frame rates soon. Major games are on the horizon. LIke Supreme Commander.

Gah, disappointing release. I echo the sentiments of everyone who says nvidia needs to hurry up and get some decent drivers out the door. HL2 isn't even playable for me at 1024x768. In XP I played at 1680x1050.

the 100.65s came out a few days ago. they're whql too. might want to give those a shot. although you probably won't experience any improvements if any.
