No game profile list?

Recently upgraded my PC, and whilst everything seems to work fine all the game profiles in the Nvidia control panel are missing. Any idea how I can get them to appear? This is on Vista 64-bit clean install with both 162.22 and 163.11 drivers. I wanted to try 158.24 aswell but they simply don't install (installer runs, ends very quickly and says 'your system has not been modified' etc). It of course neglects to mention why

I have read about in various places and have seen suggestions that moving nvapps.xml from syswow64 directory to system32 resolves the missing profiles issue. Great I thought, except this doesn't work for me either. Any ideas? Brief hardware spec: Q6600, 4gb RAM, 8800GTS 640mb, Intel P35 chipset. Any thoughts at all would be appreciated.

I'll also sneak this in here, slightly unrelated: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. doesn't work correctly on full dynamic lighting? I had read about making sure AA was off in both control panel and the game but this makes no difference, the screen in-game is totally black and you can only see the HUD (oh, and a overhead lamp ). There's also an error in the console saying that the current rendering device doesn't support shadow_world or something very similar to that... however, if I switch the renderer to static lighting, the game is completely fine, and the error no longer appears. Any thoughts?

I wasn't aware Nvidia Vista drivers were still this buggy.

I solved my own problem... it would seem that nvapps should be in c:/program data/nvidia, and not in system32 or syswow64. After moving it across, all profiles are now listed, plus STALKER now works properly. Super duper.

Hopefully this thread will help anyone else running into the same problem.
