These drivers are pretty good, I'm impressed. Temps & Performance are really good, slight drop from .13 though... nothing to complain about, as they're very stable. Been using them and gaming with them since yesterday, some heavy burn-in with Crysis and UT. ![]() Anyway, that linky will take you to a great site that supplies modded infs.

![]() Nvidia don't support modded Drivers..The inf file is added by a third party to enable the drivers work for all vga cards. They will not be mentioned in the Release Notes either. If you're card is not recognized by the Inf File then the drivers will not install. Last edited by MIG-31; Feb 23, 2008 at 07:59 PM. |

I tested these yesterday (with modded inf) and almost fried my 8800 Ultra.
The first (and only) game I tested was Crysis and after a few benchloops the framerate decreased by 2/3, at first I thought it went back to 2D or Low 3D mode so measured clocks/temp etc with Rivatuner, well, coretemp went over 105C and it was about then it showed horrible performance in Crysis, quite strange the clocks didn't went down, maybe because I overclock with rivatuner... Then I checked the fan speed and it was stuck at 59% (not auto), the older drivers was stuck att 100% (after every reboot) but atleast the temp was good, anyway, the performance was no better than 169.28 so uninstalled. With fan speed at auto the core went up to about 100C and Crysis ran ok, but I won't use any drivers that has a fan bug, I like my Ultra to much... Edit Maybe I'll try these on my new installation of Vista Ultimate X64 (SP1) to exclude problems with Rivatuner and older drivers... Sorry, mine was 174.13, testing 174.16 now...

Tested these drivers in Crysis for a couple of hours, the fan now works and load lies around 5C lower than .13 (auto). I can't realy compare the results from my last installation of Vista since Crysis benchmark doesn't act the same in a few places... Before the player didn't have a rocket launcher in CPU and assault harbour benchmark, now he does... Anyway, AVG FPS is about 1 lower compared to 171.xx but it doesn't say much, there was alot more explosions tough. Something I did notice was a few quick framedrops, this didn't seem to change the results very much but was quite annoying since the framerate's pretty bad in Crysis anyway.
Always benching the assault harbour map on Very High@DX10@1680*1050 *169.28 gives an AVG of middle 19 *171.xx gives an AVG of lower 20 *174.16 gives an AVG of higher 18 (a few framedrops!?!) Not much of a different since the 169...
