  • Recommended for the best experience on Far Cry 2:

“Since we first began working on Far Cry 2 in early 2005, we have used GeForce GPU’s to develop the game and worked closely with NVIDIA’s excellent engineers. Re: Nvidia GeForce Drivers 180.43 Betas (Vista)

Wonder if they are actually stable and run the game properly on x64 systems.

edit: These seem much better than the .42's. They appear stable, fix the black screen issue, and even provide some performance boost with FC2. Nice to see nvidia address these issues so quickly.

Using them on Vista 64bit now actually. Better than the 42's but I still get flashing textures at distance in all outland areas in WoW. The multi screen sli works perfectly, but no fan speed control and doesnt seem to know WoW is installed looking at the profiles...

Keeping them anyhow, best ones yet that support multi screen sli.

I notice I get a flicker problem in driving games (rfactor, gtr2) on my Vista x64 system running quad core 9550 and 4gb DDR3 ram, video is a 9800GTX.

It only seems to be with the overhead banners and shadows off the cars that have the flicker problem.

This happens running the 43 drivers also. Anyone else know of this?

The flickering textures have been reported in Grid also.

The official ones are due very soon.

Here's a speculated driver timeline from techarp.com:

October 21, 2008
Release of public beta that supports Far Cry 2 and SLI with X58 Express motherboards.
This beta driver will not support multi-monitor SLI or PhysX on dedicated GPU.

November 11, 2008
Improved beta driver for reviewers (not for public release).
This beta driver will support multi-monitor SLI, PhysX on dedicated GPU and improved performance.

November 17, 2008
R180 WHQL driver release

One can only hope. No one seems to have even hinted that they have this pre release driver version spoken of in the chart on techarp so either its very hush hush or complete bull :-)

But thanks for posting the naked links.I find that any driver laptopvideo2go host are either modified or are Alapha drivers. And for some reason neither of those work well for me.

Ill be sticking with the 180.43 (Vista 64) untill nvidia host those drivers direct.
