Re: 180.84 GTA IV drivers

Are these worth trying out. The reason im asking is these are not hosted on nvidias website (UK). I tend to avoid any driver hosted from else where..As most leaked drivers dont work well for me.

BTW Its the 64 bit drivers im asking about.

Yeah they are worth an install, certainly no worse performance wise and ive seen no crashes since I installed them. I had a few hard locks with the last sets in GTA4.

I know the url is from Nvidia.... As i said the main reason i was a little unsure about this set is because these are not listed on Nvidias (UK) homepage. Perhaps they are just a little slow on the Beta Upload.

I also like to see a page that also links the read me file.As those links are direct downloads there is no info that comes with the drivers.

Ill try them out later.

No problems yet with these drivers but no performance increases either. I guess this is for the SLI crowd.

Problem is with the game codes, CPUs are only used at about 50% capacity and GPUs about 75-80%. ATI and nVidia both did what they could and released beta drivers to help with GTA4 but ultimately the problem lies with Rockstar. I guess they simply forgot where GTA started and gained huge success... Kinda like Epic Games...

My friend has a quad-core, 4GB, and a HD4850 and can barely get more than 40-45 fps overall, yet he plays Crysis at a constant 60 fps(v-sync on).

Well I have a low end laptop video card but these drivers cut my FPS by almost one half from the 178.13 drivers in GTA 4, dont know why but also they crash and lock up my computer occasionally not just in GTA 4 but other games too.

The 181.00 drivers are pretty good so far. (As the 64 bit set goes).

But im not sure if i am the only one who had to install the PhysX drivers separately.

For me any game that uses PhysX would end up with a windows pop-up 'Program is not responding' and is forced to close.

The problems went away once i installed the PhsyX 8.11.18 Guru3D are currently hosting.
