GeForce/ION Driver Release 186.08 Beta (Vista)

This is a beta driver for GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, and 200-series desktop GPUs and ION GPUs.

This driver supports all of the new GPU-accelerated DirectX APIs in Windows 7: DirectX Compute, Direct2D, DirectWrite, and DXVA-HD.

New in Release 186.08

• Numerous bug fixes. More information can be found in the release documentation.
• Installs the new PhysX System Software version 9.09.0428.
• Users without US English operating systems can select their language and download the International driver here.

New in Release 185/186 drivers:

• Adds support for Ambient Occlusion – the newest NVIDIA Control Panel feature to offer enhanced 3D gaming realism exclusively to GeForce GPUs.
• Adds support for CUDA 2.2 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications. See CUDA for more details.
• Expands GPU hardware acceleration for the NVIDIA Video Encoding library to GPUs with less than 32 cores. Applications using this library include CyberLink PowerDirector 7, Nero Move it 1.5, Loilo SuperLoiloScope MARS, and CyberLink MediaShow Espresso.
• Accelerates performance in several 3D applications. The following are examples of improvements measured with Release 185/186 drivers vs. Release 181 drivers (results will vary depending on your GPU, system configuration, and game settings):
  • Up to 25% performance increase in The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
  • Up to 22% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with antialiasing enabled
  • Up to 11% performance increase in Fallout 3 with antialiasing enabled
  • Up to 14% performance increase in Far Cry 2
  • Up to 30% performance increase in Half-Life 2 engine games with 3-way and 4-way SLI
  • Up to 45% performance increase in Mirror’s Edge with antialiasing enabled

This is quite odd... all thought the links i have supplied are working.When ever i accept the agreement im getting this message. File can not be found.

It only appears to be the Win 7/Vista drivers..

The XP drivers are fine.

Perhaps they had something linked improperly mate. I just DLed the 64 Bit Win 7/Vista without issue at the time of this post so seems sorted.

I guess so Mac... I tried to D/L this set after i upped this new set of betas here.And these would not download.

It first appeared that this set was pulled due to refreshing a new page to download these drivers.Seeing as i always link these drivers to the DH FP.I just left the message here for a little heads up.

For me the image quality is just as good as the last WHQL drivers.. But i do think these are slightly smoother also..

Bare in mind that i have only tried these out on Fear 2,Half Life 2 (Which i have lost the slight stutter in the frame rate on 64Bit) and COD world at war.

I still need to find some time to try out my other favourite games,Crysis inc Warhead and B.I.A Hells Highway.

Will be getting the Win 7 64bit ones now and trying them out on Counterstrike: Source, HL2, BF2142 and BF2 (I was getting a flickering/artifacts problem on the dust2 map on CS:S among others with the 185.85 set)

Thanks for the feedback I didn't get around L4D but no issues on either Killing Floor or Mirror's Edge here. (Win7 64 bit)

Seems to have fixed artifact issues in Counterstrike: Source, and all is good in HL2.
