Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these micro stutters in AION like i am? I have tried several different video drivers from Nvidia to no effect and found myself here. When i zone in i get massive amounts of small hitches and stuttering for a bit and this continues when i move around. I have crysis which runs perfectly and many other games as well which all run fine.

Was hoping one of you kind, tech savvy folk might be able to point me in the right direction for a fix or possibly even a workaround if that's ok?
System specs are as follows..
Intel core 2 duo 9650.
MSI p35 NEO mainboard.
Sound Blaster XFi extreme gamer.
4GIG ddr2 Corsair ram
Nvidia 9800GTX+ (as it came out of the box)
500gig Samsunt SATA HDD.

Any help appreciated and thanks in advance for any input.

Hi there, i think i am as i updated it on the microsoft site last night. If there's a better place to get it please let me know as the microsoft site can be a tad confusing at times hehe.

I typically use Filehippo to grab my latest updates for software and so forth, they update the site daily.
Also I recommend using driver cleaner when installing new drivers.
Have you tried playing around with the graphics settings at all to see if the stuttering is related to fps issues? Could be server lag as well.

Thank you for the replies |2A|N. I do appreciate your feedback. Yes I have played with every setting imaginable with no positive result. I have a couple of other ideas in mind and I am going to explore them after some sleep. Will let you know how it goes.

Hey Brazen, I've been looking up aion stuttering on google and found that recently you've been asking about this issue on a few different forums. I registered on this one just to reply to you.

I personally have the same exact problem you complain about and have a slightly better system. I'm getting a considerable amount of microstutters whenever I enter a town. It almost seems like it stutters while it loads characters, but I know this isn't an issue for most people... even with computers worse than mine.

I'm on an E8400 @ 3.82ghz, GTX 260 and 4gigs of corsair ram. I'ma lso on a 500 gig SATA HDD.

I'm really not sure as to what causes the hitches because no other game on my pc does that. I've tried many different drivers and other things people have suggested with no progression. Anyways I'll consistently check on this thread and hope that you and I can get together and try to solve this issue.

I do know some other people experience this same issue, so we're definitely not the only ones to get it.

You could try defraging your hdd's. Upgrade to faster net connection, that worked for me in Second Life. Otherwise it might just be a server location thing. I know that in WOW some people get stuttering on the same server I am on, but my gameplay has always been smooth. It sounds like server location specifically. If it's a really bad thing thing the only thing I could suggest is complaining about it to the company, maybe they will work out a patch or update that can help resolve this issue. Saying something does help as I'm sure the company doesn't want any players to be unhappy.

Hey guys, just reporting in. I used driver cleaner which didn't help unfortunately. I have real fast net too so the problem isn't lag. I defragged and stress tested all my gear and everything came through fine. Tried many different drivers and solutions all to vo avail.
Really starting to tear my hair out with this one as it really has me beat. Just doing a full reformat now to see if that helps also. Will report back with results. (hopefully good ones)

I personally think that the game has some kind of bug or performance issue with certain hardware. I try not to let it bother me too much as it only really happens in towns, but even then I know it shouldnt.
