7.1 vista and stock wddm?

Well after being totally peeed off for the past couple of days I decided to uninstall the cat 7.1's for vista and try the stockk wddm from microsoft that comes with vista. I was having problems getting mid 20's bf2 frame rates with the 7.1's so i tryed the wddm's and wow massive jump to mid 60's fps. I am totally amaized at the performance gain and the graphics look just as good. Altho still stuck with the 60 mhz refresh bug atleast i can play bf2 again.

PS i get a 4.1 rating in vista only because of my processor but that will be getting upgraded to an fx 60 and a new asus mobo with a asus en8800gtx video card. Gonna go for the 800 or above power supply as well.

my system
amd athlon 64 3000
asus k8n-e mobo
pc 2700 memory 1.5gb
ati x850 platinum edition
80 gb maxtor hard drive
480 watt antec power supply

Try using compatibility mode for XP since BF2 and all other games have yet to be updated or programed "for vista".

FYI: Last I'd herd nvidia has far worse issues / poor drivers in vista

Yes, from everything I've read so far, nvidia owners are up in arms about poor support under Vista. I'd really step back and reconsider a move to nVidia cards at this time. In fact, I'd reconsider even using Vista at this time.

I tryed running in the xp compatability mode but it kept crashing to desktop when i would try to run it with the ati drivers. Since uninstalling them I am getting an avg 60 fps very much playable now and still looks very good.
