Vista+Mobility radeon 9600+DHModtool 4

Hi i am trying to install my video card that is not compatible with my dell computer. I was able to install the drivers needed with modtools 3 while running XP prof. Now that i have Vista my display is all messed up (after windows update decided to automatically install new ati drivers). Im trying to install the catalyst 7.1 driver but it doesnt work. My knowledge of computer modding is not very extensive. Im ready to throw my computer across the room can anyone offer me any advice?

I know you don't want to hear this, but, in all honesty, I wish people would wait at least another six months before upgrading to Vista. Being that Vista is brand new, driver support is not yet what it needs to be and it's going to take at least six months....maybe a year....before the dust will settle.

So, if you ask me my advice, it would be to revert to Windows XP until further notice. Otherwise, you may be waiting a long time before someone comes along who gets a system like yours working right.

My campus gives vista out to student/faculty for free, i didnt think there would be any problems, so i went ahead and installed it excitedly. In retrospect, it was not worth the trouble
