ive got drivers for mobility 7500 successfully installed, however, everything is working swell, howev'er, wen i try and play a video file from windows media centre i get a video error saying:
"files needed to display video files are not installed or not working correctly. Please try restarting windows media centre". I have come across threads on the net with ppl saying they got it running with this video card, but it involved some crazy tweaking... anyway would appreciate any advice and help people have to offer. Basically, im trying to get video files to play in windows media centre (o.s vista ultimate) Much appreciated Last edited by mistah1; Aug 6, 2007 at 04:33 PM. Reason: clarification |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
Can you tell us what type of video file has this issue? Is it windows media video file (WMV) or just Audio Video Interleave (AVI) file? |

can you take screen shot of this error? Since it could be just software problem or driver problem.
btw. that is one old ATI card you have there and ATI don't have drivers for it. |

Well it looks like you don't have the codecs installed. So you need to install them.

i know this is a n00b13 question but exactly what codecs do i install, do i install third party codecs like k-lite media codec... or something else. Furthermore, i read installing power dvd may help but that is a different app.. anyway please share your wisdom.

K-lite is good pack to have installed. But as I've done some research I seriously recommend you to get new laptop since that 7500 chip isn't designed for Vista. So you would be better with XP Media Center edition.
