im working on a frieds dell xps m2010 that has a ati radeon Mobility Radeon X1800
and i cant find updated drivers for it and i thought i post before i tryed the modder tool
to get more info on which drivers to download right now im downloading from here 8.6 xp Mobility

i posted to get more info on how to mod the drivers hope u dont mind lol


its a great video chip i have in my pc a ati radeon x1600 pro pci-e that works great
with a 500watt psu

For Vista you need to get the Vista drivers.

thanks for the quick reply i have try those and mod them and they work but
dont work they cause game to stop loading i get pass the loading screen then it
goes to a black screen then it nothing i have to then hold the power botton down

( its not a bsod or anything the pc just stops )

think i should install the xp Mobility from ati and mod them but im not sure im
doing the modding right the drivers and software install right and work fine just not when it comes to
games all games iv tryed do that battlefield 2 and crysis and command & conquer 3 all do it
after the loading then goes to a black screen then i have to hold the power botton to shutdown then
boot back up

lol, if the laptop has Vista XP drivers won't work! That's why there are Vista drivers.
Uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones and remember to read the instructions on the mod tool page.

ok the xp Mobility did not work they wont even install so what can i do to update the drivers
and i know that the vista desktop drivers will mod and install but they cause games issue

as i said above ^^

but what does the mod tool do really does it take them from desktop drivers to Mobility drivers
and if not then what does the mod tool do

sorry i keep dring this out but i just what to do this right as this is not my pc its a friends

can someone tell why when i mod the vista drivers from here why they cause the games
to stop loading (( a friend of mine said its because they dont have that in i guess he's talking about the game part not sure ))

but what do think is cause it to that do and what can i do to stop it

and does the mod tool do anyways as iv asked above
does it make the desktop drivers to laptop drivers

i have also found a thread here about DNA Ati vista driver's Heres a exe link
hope u dont mind that and i wanted to know what those are and if they will work with
Mobility chips if so i need a reply before torrow at 3:00 pm as i might be able to goto the collage
were im able to download stuff

and iv also contacted dell support via email to see if they can help in
updateing there drivers for Amd/Ati Mobility drivers as it would help
alot of people as i know there are alot out there with this issue

and to add im on dial-up so i cant download really anything i cant get Hi-speed as the
phone/cable conpanys wont run it me and i live 3.2 miles one way and 1 mile in another way
so im stuck with dial-up lol really love to get verzion fios
