Problems with integrated ATI 3200 and new HD 3850
Greetings!
I have a asus m3a78-emh motherboard with an onboard ATI 3200 that did ok for games. But I wanted to try the CrossfireX thing. So I bought myself an HD 3850, thinking it would be an easy thing to get going and that my graphics would be sweet as candy. Nope. Don't get me wrong, the 3850 is pretty nice for me, the casual gamer. At first, only the 3850 was showing up in the device manager, until I figured out I needed to change a setting in the bios. Great--now the 3200 driver shows up in the list--looks like it's in there fine--no yellow ! or anything saying there is a problem. But when my Catalyst 8.9 comes up it says there was a problem with the driver and it couldn't load the 3200 card--telling me I have to "Enable" it. I see the 3200 on there when I right click the CCC, but my only option is "extend desktop". Now, I only have one monitor, so that won't help. Now here's where it gets odd. I figure, ok, what if I plug my monitor into the 3200 instead of the 3800? Well, what happens is, I get NO display whatsoever. So, I'm at a loss as what to do now. I use Vista 64 bit. |

On this mainboard not higher than HD 3450 videocard can be used in CrossfireX together with onboard one. HD 3850 is supported only as a single card.
